The largest ever investment in England's grassroots sport facilities has been made in Sunderland, with £20m from the Premier League, The FA and Government's Football Foundation and the Local Council. Local football legends including Sunderland's most capped footballer Jimmy Montgomery and striker Duncan Watmore helped to open the sites.
