NETFLIX UNVEILS HANDCRAFTED LANTERN DISPLAY INSPIRED BY MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE RELEASE OF ‘OVER THE MOON’ THIS FRIDAY ON NETFLIX
“Over The Moon” lantern installation illuminated from tonight in London Chinatown, with Birmingham Chinatown to be unveiled this Friday
Installations will be present until at least 15th November
Over fifty striking lanterns across both sites, brought to life with over 12,000 animated LED lights can be experienced in a safe, socially distanced manner
Hand-crafted by Liverpool-based Lantern Company, who created lanterns for The Lumiere Festival
London installation will help raise money for MediCinema and the London Chinese Community Centre
Local businesses from each Chinatown are creating limited edition bespoke items inspired by the film and the Mid-Autumn Festival

The stunning display of large lanterns depicting characters from the new animation, and inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival folklore, includes Jade Rabbit, Chang’e the Moon Goddess and Fei Fei's Rocket. The Over the Moon Lantern installation is switched on tonight and is live until at least November 15th, with local businesses in the area celebrating with themed initiatives.
