ESCA-PEAS! BIRDS EYE REVEALS 7.7 BILLION PEAS ARE LOST EACH YEAR
Birds Eye teams up with Robert Welch to create limited edition fork-spoon hybrid
Designed to safely hold and deliver a mouthful of Petits Pois
200 ‘Petits Sporks’ available to buy on the Robert Welch website
For years, Brits have been united by one common mealtime challenge – eating a mouthful of peas without them rolling off the fork.
Birds Eye has revealed that a total of 7.7 billion peas are lost from forks nationwide each year and Brits are not happy about missing out on their beloved frozen vegetable, with almost a third admitting to feeling frustrated or clumsy as a result.
Over the Easter weekend, two thirds Brits are planning on eating peas with their roast dinner, so Birds Eye is swooping in to save countless peas from escaping, with the launch of the ‘Petits Spork’.
The fork-spoon hybrid design will help Brits safely hold and deliver a mouthful of sweet and tender Petits Pois.
Created inpartnership with renowned British cutlery brand, Robert Welch, which holds royal credentials of two Queen Awards, the mirror-polished utensil has the perfect curvature and depth to safely hold a whopping 52 Petit Pois with each mouthful, in comparison to an average sized fork which can only manage just nine.
